TLC for Kids have been providing relief and support to sick children and their families during stressful situations since 1998. Started by Tim Conolan AM, the charity urgently assists any child or family regardless of their illness, location, citizenship or financial situation. Their services have been used In hospitals across Australia and New Zealand over 10 million times.

To support the Children’s charity, Red23 launched an adoption drive for TLC for Kids Teddy Bears at their recent Builder Partner networking event.

The Teddy Bears are now available for pre-order, with all proceeds going directly to support TLC for Kids’ 3 essential services:

• Rapid TLC Service:​ Delivers quick practical and emotional support to sick children and their families. This could be anything from paying a bill, purchasing toys or giving the family some time away. 

• TLC Ambulance: Takes children in palliative care and their families for a special trip to their favourite place to create some happy memories. Volunteer Paramedics go along and drive the fun, repurposed ambulance.

• Distraction Box Program:​ A special box of specifically chosen toys and items for distracting a child through painful treatment. It helps reduce anxiety, fear and discomfort. 

Red23 Managing Director Terry Portelli said, ‘We wanted to create a unique way to support TLC for Kids as well as provide something special for people to remember what their valued donation was going towards. The Teddy Bears align with both Red23 and TLC for Kids values, which is essentially about supporting families in need.

Terry concluded, ‘We launched the Teddy Bear Adoption Drive at our recent Builder Partners event and it turned out to be a tremendous success. We sold 70 Teddy Bears and raised $1,900. We are truly humbled by the result and we would like to thank all of our valued Builder Partners who purchased a Teddy Bear or made a donation to TLC for Kids.’
